We are very interested in producing punts that resemble the one shown in the picture. I was in Bolt Castle in up-state New York and I found this little gem in the famous boat house.
The punt is very similar to the flat-bottom kit that we already produce and I could easily adapt that kit into this boat. We would add decks for and aft as well as compartments under the seats and some flotation compartments for safety.
The kit would come with all fasteners, pre-cut panels and all the best quality ash and white oak for stringers and rails. We would provide conventional oars and bronze oarlocks but a punting paddle would be the best mode of transportation in this style of boat.
If you are close to our location and want a paddle made, we can handle that as well. The cost of the kit would be a little more than our flat-bottom because of the increase in materials and deck space. At $950 Cdn. funds, she is worth every penny.
We have had individuals and groups build our skiff and this particular model would not take much more time. A two week stint with a handy neighbour would get you floating.
