1947 Garwood Ensign

I purchased this boat down in Conneticut. She is hull #2 and is the very first Garwood Ensign to recieve a flat-head 6 cylinder engine. The engine is still there and restorable. The hull needs work but, is not too far gone and not so big a project that cost would get out of hand. The best thing about this boat is that all the parts are still available. The windshield mounts, dash guages and chrome are available and the simple layout of the boat make her an easy restoration. The original design was built and painted white with "Naultilex" mahogany vinyl decks for the "common man". The boat is reputed to be very fast (40 mph+) with the six cyilinder motor and the exterior can be bright finished with "pin-striped" decks of mahogany if desired. Boats like this are rare indeed and we can make her yours as is or bring her to any stage of restoration that you wish.
